MARINE CADETS ARE GO!!!!!
Maybe you are bored; looking for a new challenge; want to set a new years' resolution; looking to do something more meaningful; and you want to know more? ...... Come on down to the unit and take a look. You will be treated as a guest and free to join in for the evening or just watch. You could even apply on the night to join officially, and with some effort, become a Marine Cadet within 6 weeks!

JOINING QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MCD
The St.Albans detachment now have openings for boys & girls and of 13 and over, to starting training as Marine Cadet Recruits. Once recruit training is completed the cadet will join the ranks of the trained Marine Cadets who have access to all the activities that take place in the Marine Cadets and Sea Cadets and with other UK forces.

No previous experience necessary. You do not need to be fit (but it helps!), however, the training does involve physical tasks and intense training at a later stage.

MCD Drill at St Albans Sea CadetsYou can join the Sea Cadets0 years of age and as a Junior Sea Cadet, start earning the qualifications that will help with your advancement in the Sea Cadets or Marine Cadets. So don't wait, come along NOW and you could be following in their 'boots'.......

COSTS: Drill nights cost £2 per week (2 sessions), this is optional for the severely financially disadvantaged, however as a self funding organisation we hope that all cadets parents/guardians would make a monthly standing order in favour of the unit for at least £8.70 or an annual one for just £104.A standing order form is available here (PDF 17k).

External Camps & Courses have to be paid for by the cadet, they are relatively inexpensive. For example; a weekend at a Field Training Camp, living in a mixture of barracks and bivouac's s would cost approx £10 - £15. We carry out various fund raising activities, which cadets are expected to help with eg: house to house collections and manning stands at shows.Parents/guardians please see your page here.

Our Mission Statement

The St Albans Sea Cadets is governed by its constitution, which first two paragraphs set out the fundaments of the organization. They read ...

Preamble
The Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide, voluntary, uniformed youth organization open to young people aged between 12 and 18 years (and with a Junior Section for those of 10 to 12 years) regardless of sex, religion or race, and, within the bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs.

Aim
The aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on customs of the Royal Navy.
