16th December 2008
Cadets from St Albans Sea Cadets (TS St Albans) swapped caps for antlers earlier this week, dressing festively to bag pack at Sainsbury's, St Albans.
10 cadets plus instructors and parents helped busy shoppers pack their Christmas buys and raised a much needed £825 for the charity.
As well as having fun the cadets raised the profile of the local and active Sea Cadet Corps with a number of younger shoppers expressing an interest in joining.
St Albans Sea Cadets are a busy, active and successful local organisation winning a number of trophies and awards in 2008 for shooting, sailing, kayaking, expeditions. We welcome boys and girls aged 10 to 18 and we meet Tuesday & Friday evenings 7pm behind Westminster Swimming pool. We invite those interested in making 2009 a bit more special to just turn up and say hello or contact Ted Hill on 07958 320 638 for more details.
We are closed over the christmas period recommencing parade evening on the 6th January.
