Marine Cadets from St Albans Sea Cadets (TS St Albans) spent last weekend learning to survive in the wild.
A team of 8 travelled to Friday Woods (land owned by the MoD) near Colchester to learn how to survive in the wild. New cadets learnt the basis of map reading, building a temporary shelter and how to live off the land while older cadets developed their basics skills and learnt more about leadership, camouflage & concealment, tactics and strategy.
This is the first of many such expeditions this summer teaching new skills to young people. Life at St Albans Sea Cadets is serious fun and we welcome boys and girls aged 10 to 18 who want to learn more about kayaking, shooting, windsurfing, sailing, drill, camping/survival, first aid & orienteering and much more.
We meet Tuesday & Friday evenings 7pm behind Westminster Swimming pool and we invite those interested to just turn up and say hello.
