Cadets from St Albans Sea Cadets (TS St Albans) showed they were just as good on dry land as they are on the water last bank holiday weekend. Following success last month in both sailing and kayaking competitions, four cadets won the District Expedition competition held in woodland outside Stevenage.
Camping out over two nights the cadets lead by Leading Cadet Elsa Sharp demonstrated their skills in a variety of exercises including map-reading/orienteering, river crossing, mountaineering skills, speed marching, & first aid to beat cadet units from across Hertfordshire.

The cadets now progress to represent the Area at the District competition later in the year taking on other units from across eastern England.
The winning team compromised Leading Cadets, Sharp, Threadgold & Hughes and Marine Cadet Buck.
Life at St Albans Sea Cadets is serious fun and we welcome boys and girls aged 10 to 18 who want to learn more about kayaking, shooting, windsurfing, sailing, drill, camping/survival, first aid & orienteering and much more.
We meet Tuesday & Friday evenings 7pm behind Westminster Swimming pool and we invite those interested to just turn up and say hello.
