Following on
from their success in the Sea Cadets shooting competition in December last
year, St Albans Sea Cadets (TS St
Albans) have now gone on to win the Hertfordshire area Piping & Drill
competitions.
Taking on teams from across
Hertfordshire St Albans Sea & Marine Cadets have won both the piping & Drill
(armed & unarmed) competitions held at St Albans (14th January)
as part of the regular inter unit competitions.
The St Albans teams now go on
to represent Hertfordshire in the Area competitions taking on cadet units
from across eastern England.
Lt Cmdr Grayham Waylett, the
Commanding Officer at St Albans, praised the success of the cadets
commenting:
“We had a very successful 2008
with our shooting, sailing, canoeing etc and we have got off to a great
start in 2009 where we intend to do even better.”
Life at St Albans Sea Cadets is serious fun and we welcome boys and girls aged 10 to 18 who want to learn more about kayaking, shooting, windsurfing, sailing, drill, camping/survival, first aid & orienteering and much more.
We meet Tuesday & Friday evenings 7pm behind Westminster Swimming pool and we invite those interested to just turn up and say hello.We are also keen to hear from any adults who want to help out either instructing or behind the scenes in admin or in the galley.
